A substance is any natural or synthesized product that has psychoactive effects. A substance changes one’s perceptions, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Cocaine, heroin, and amphetamines are some of the examples of these substance. People who have problems as a consequence of taking these drugs are then referred to as drug addicts.
